DAVID STYLES

Styles lands at FIU after spending the last five years as a member of the Franklin Pierce women's soccer program, where he served as the top assistant to Head Coach Jonathan Garbar from 2018-19.

As FPU's top assistant, Styles helped the Ravens win a 2018 championship in the Northeast-10 Conference, which is regarded as one of the most competitive leagues in Division II women’s soccer. Styles also helped FPU earn a berth to the NCAA DII Championship Tournament in 2018, where the Ravens advanced to the second round.
 
Prior to being named assistant coach at FPU, Styles spent two seasons as a graduate assistant on the Raven’s women’s soccer staff from 2016-17. During the 2017 season, Styles helped the Ravens earn their first trip to the NCAA DII Tournament since 2010.
 
In addition to his coaching duties, Styles acted as the Northeast recruiting coordinator, while also organizing and marketing the ID Prospect Clinics for potential women’s soccer recruits at FPU. An impressive number of Ravens earned individual honors throughout Styles’ four seasons with the program, including three All-American, six United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections, one NE-10 Player of the Year, one NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year, and 10 NE-10 All-Conference players.

Styles has been heavily involved in US Youth Soccer, including his work with Global Premier Soccer New Hampshire, where he coached the club's older age groups. Styles completed his USSF National ‘D’ License in the summer of 2018.

Prior to his coaching days, Styles enjoyed a four-year playing career with the Division I men's soccer program at Hartwick College. An All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team selection as a senior, he finished his career with 19 points on five goals and nine assists, playing primarily as a midfielder. Styles also earned Sun Belt All-Tournament Team honors in his junior campaign. While he was with the Hawks, the squad captured a pair of Sun Belt Championships and made two trips to the NCAA Championship.
 
A native of Bognor Regis, England, Styles earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Hartwick College in 2015, and received his Master's Degree in Sports Management from Franklin Pierce University in 2018.
