Coach Styles, a native from England and has been heavily involved with professional soccer clubs throughout his career. Growing up he played for Portsmouth FC, and Wycombe Wanderers FC where he immediately began to pursue a career in both playing soccer and coaching; taking his first coaching course with The Football Association (The FA) at 16 years of age. 


Coach David Styles is now the First Assistant at Franklin Pierce University. Franklin Pierce competes in the Northeast-10 conference which has been regarded as one of the most competitive in women’s soccer at the Division II level. Within the Northeast, the NE-10 conference regularly has three-four teams competing at the NCAA Tournament out of six teams from the region within the NE-10, ECC and CACC Conferences. He has been with the program for three seasons, and second under Coach Garbar. The record for the team in 2017 was 12-5-2 which saw the program reach the NCAA DII Tournament for the first time since 2010. This past Fall, the program finished 16-2-2, winning the NE-10 Conference League and Championship, and earning a berth to the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row. In the Fall, the program received many individual honors; 3 All-Americans, 4 All-Region Honors from United Soccer Coaches, NE-10 Player of the Year, NE-10 Defensive Player of the Year, and 4 NE-10 All-Conference First-Team players. In addition to his coaching role for the program, Coach Styles organizes, markets and assists with the running of ID Prospect Clinics for potential women’s soccer recruits at the University. The ID Clinics focus on technical and tactical training, soccer-specific cognitive development, and full-field 11 vs. 11 scrimmages. Last season, Coach Styles was a Camp Director for the Franklin Pierce Women’s Soccer Programs previous two summer camps.


In addition to his role at Franklin Pierce, Coach Styles is heavily involved in US Club Youth Soccer. He has worked for Global Premier Soccer New Hampshire as a Marketing Director and as a Youth Coach. Not only has Coach Styles worked with travel teams, but has successfully coordinated and ran summer camps, and soccer-specific clinics which focused heavily on the technical side of the game. Coach Styles has worked private training with the majority of his players, including small group training outside of the allotted training hours. He prides himself on the development of the players technical and mental side of the game, ensuring they are fulfilling their potential and looking to grow every time they step on the field. 


Alongside his coaching career, Coach Styles continues to play at a high level, competing in the USL League Two for GPS Portland Phoenix. Styles was a part of the 2016 team which captured the Northeast Division Championship. In Fall 2015 Coach Styles completed a four-year playing career with the Division I men's soccer program at Hartwick College. An All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team selection as a senior, he finished his career with 19 points on five goals and nine assists, playing primarily as a defender. Styles also earned Sun Belt All-Tournament Team honors in his junior campaign. While he was with the Hawks, the squad captured a pair of Sun Belt Championships and made two trips to the NCAA Championship.


Throughout his coaching career, Coach Styles puts a premium on developing players and pushing them onto the next level. He inspires players to learn the game on and off the field, paying attention to the small details which can be learned by doing or from the professionals in the game; ensuring that each player is fulfilling their true potential. 


Originally from Bognor Regis, England, Styles is a 2015 graduate of Hartwick College and a 2018 MBA Sports Management graduate from Franklin Pierce.
