JUAN GATTI

Co-President, Director of Operations

and Headcoach

Coach Juan Gatti has been involved with soccer his entire life. Growing up in Argentina, he played and experienced, first-hand the highest level of competition, in one of the world’s most successful and passionate soccer communities.

As Co-President and Director of Operations, Coach Juan is in charge of all the logistics of New Era. From expanding to new areas to growing the existing programs, he makes sure that we continue providing your daughter with the best soccer training possible while we reach further to impact more girls every day. At the same time, Coach Juan has an extensive background in coaching at the highest levels which puts him in a unique position to provide our players with the most complete training possible. Those who had the chance to train with Coach Juan can testify of his level of professionalism and the level of his training sessions.

Coach Juan also serves as the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach at Mercy College. Mercy is an NCAA DII college, that competes in the East Coast Conference. In only three seasons, the team obtained a record of 35-8-9 (W-D-L) and in 2018 they were the ECC Regular season champions. Also in 2018, Coach Juan and the Mavericks earned a spot in the NCAA tournament and advanced to the second round for the first time since 1989.

Before New Era, Coach Juan was the Academy Director for Asphalt Green Soccer Club (New York City) and lead a program that serves over 500 players. Within his expansive role, Coach Juan was responsible for both, the Soccer and character development of all players under his leadership. The program serves players that are just learning soccer for the first time, to experienced players that have embraced the game, and are looking to get to the next level, from ages 3 to 14.  In his first two years as Director, Coach Juan promoted over 20 players into travel teams, allowing them to compete at a higher level. He also created an Academy system that increases the pace of that development and allows players a smoother transition into the travel teams.

Coach Juan also served as the Assistant Women’s Coach at Monroe College under Coach  Garbar’s leadership. In only their first year, the team won its conference and reached the regional final, falling short at a chance to go to the national tournament. That was only the first year of an extremely successful program that went on to win to the National Championship in 2014 and reaching the National Final in 2015.

Coach Juan not only coaches at a high level but also continues playing in a semi-professional club. He currently plays for Kingston Stockade FC in Kingston, NY. The team competes in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) which is considered the 4th division in the US Soccer pyramid. Stockade FC obtained the North Atlantic Conference championship in 2017, featuring Coach Juan as the starting center back.

Throughout his career, Coach Juan has developed a true passion for the youth and is highly involved in making sure his players achieve the highest level possible. He strives to ensure that every player he coaches and mentors, to become a better version of themselves and work relentlessly to enjoy the process of getting better every day.
